Summary

The New Mediterranean Diet Cookbook is your guidebook to the ultimate superdiet, an evidence-based keto diet that emphasizes a diversity of fish, healthy fats, and a rainbow of colorful vegetables—with 100 delicious recipes for everything from snacks to dinner。

The Mediterranean diet has long been touted as one of the world's healthiest diets, renowned for its protective effects against heart disease, cancer, and other chronic illnesses。 However, its heavy inclusion of grains and carbohydrates can contribute to obesity and is a drawback for many。 Also shown to have many health benefits, the ketogenic diet stimulates the fat-burning and longevity-promoting state of ketosis by limiting carbs and emphasizing high-fat foods。 While the keto diet is about the proportion of macronutrients (fats, protein, carbohydrates) in the food you eat, the Mediterranean diet is about specific food types: seafood, olive oil, colorful  vegetables, and other anti-inflammatory foods。

This book is about living and eating at the intersection of these complementary diets so you can reap the benefits of both。 While both diets advocate significant amounts of healthy fats and protein, The new Mediterranean approach to keto significantly shifts the fat profile of the diet to emphasize the monounsaturated and omega-3 fats that health experts agree promote living a long disease-free life。 It also includes colorful vegetables, providing a diversity of nutrients and flavor。 The result is an enhanced Mediterranean diet that stokes metabolism, supports the gut and microbiome, and is anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, and nutrient-dense

Improve your overall health while enjoying delectable dishes including:
Superfood Shakshuka
Blender Cinnamon Pancakes with Cacao Cream Topping
Green Goddess Salad

With The New Mediterranean Diet Cookbook, you'll learn how to balance your macronutrients, what foods are considered the new Mediterranean superfoods, and how to make tasty dishes to keep you satisfied all day。

THE NEW MEDITERRANEAN DIET COOKBOOK is almost a unicorn for those of us searching for healthy habits。 This cookbook modifies the Mediterranean Diet with a low-carb Keto approach, providing the hope that this cross-section is slightly better than either approach alone。 There is a great introduction that describes the value in this approach。 Each recipe has micronutrient counts listed for ease of use。 I made one of the recipes in the book and was pleased with the outcome。 This book is definitely a THE NEW MEDITERRANEAN DIET COOKBOOK is almost a unicorn for those of us searching for healthy habits。 This cookbook modifies the Mediterranean Diet with a low-carb Keto approach, providing the hope that this cross-section is slightly better than either approach alone。 There is a great introduction that describes the value in this approach。 Each recipe has micronutrient counts listed for ease of use。 I made one of the recipes in the book and was pleased with the outcome。 This book is definitely at the cusp of healthy eating, for those wishing to cook or bake at home。 I received my copy from the publisher through NetGalley。 。。。more

I'm possibly in the minority here, but I didn't love this。 I don't usually follow a Keto diet, but I've recently needed to cut down on carbs and wanted some recipe ideas。 Some of them sounded really nice - the spiced cauliflower dish looks delicious! - but a lot of them were things I either wouldn't eat, or were fairly basic (I'm not convinced the book needs as many recipes as it has for cauliflower rice variations)。 However, I'm probably not the ideal target audience - I'm a big fan of carbs us I'm possibly in the minority here, but I didn't love this。 I don't usually follow a Keto diet, but I've recently needed to cut down on carbs and wanted some recipe ideas。 Some of them sounded really nice - the spiced cauliflower dish looks delicious! - but a lot of them were things I either wouldn't eat, or were fairly basic (I'm not convinced the book needs as many recipes as it has for cauliflower rice variations)。 However, I'm probably not the ideal target audience - I'm a big fan of carbs usually! Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this。 。。。more

I received this ebook from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review。I feel like this book really tried to give a science lesson behind diseases, and the illustrations were cool but I really just wanted recipes。 The recipes start on page 36 with breakfast foods。 I do appreciate the fact that *almost* every recipe has a picture with it; I will almost always skim over recipes without pictures。

I am food obsessed。 I drive friends and family mad by constantly watching things like MasterChef and Saturday Kitchen, trying to find the next wild and interesting thing to attempt cooking。 I don't need a diet, but I am very conscious of what ingredients I use or what something contains。 I don't trust most ready made sauces for instance (no matter how well renowned) as I'm not convinced what quality ingredients went in to it。 The New Mediterranean Diet Cookbook grabbed me right from the start。 I I am food obsessed。 I drive friends and family mad by constantly watching things like MasterChef and Saturday Kitchen, trying to find the next wild and interesting thing to attempt cooking。 I don't need a diet, but I am very conscious of what ingredients I use or what something contains。 I don't trust most ready made sauces for instance (no matter how well renowned) as I'm not convinced what quality ingredients went in to it。 The New Mediterranean Diet Cookbook grabbed me right from the start。 I am terrible at being told what I should and shouldn't eat, but this book cleverly explains why things are good for you and how to make subtle changes to what you already cook with。 Nothing authoritarian such as 'you must' or 'do not use', it simply lists the benefits of various ingredients and what a difference they can make for very little alterations。 I've long thought it's not about 'what' you eat but the attitude towards the food you eat and what you cook with。 The recipes are interesting and clearly healthier alternatives to what some may already make, but I didn't find anything overly revolutionary unfortunately, but perhaps that's because I am quite adventurous with what I cook。 It does however serve as fantastic inspiration of how to apply the ingredients you learn about in the first chapter and how to incorporate those changes in to your diet。 。。。more

I taught culinary classes and am always looking for new techniques and combinations。 Got it here。 So, if you are seeking something different, something healthy (I mean truly healthy) do pick up this book to add to your culinary lifestyle repertoire。My sincere thank you to Quarto Publishing Group - Fair Winds and NetGalley for the privilege of reading this compelling ARC。 。。。more

The beginning of this cookbook gives the reasons for the diet as well as important health benefits of certain foods。 The recipes in the book look good with beautiful pictures。 Some of the recipes have a lot of ingredients and/or unusual ingredients which may throw some readers off。
